This the first weekend of DS summer vacation and also it was Fathers Day weekend. It was a great weekend to go to Hammonasset Beach the weather was perfect. We tried a new campsite this year and it worked out great. The site was huge, close to the shower and restrooms and there wasn't as much traffic and noise. Friday we went bike riding and hung around the campsite and started a game of Rummy. That night we had a campfire and DW tried out her new acoustic guitar by the campfire.

Saturday was our day at the beach and we could not have asked for better weather. Their wasn't a cloud in the sky and it was about 85 degrees out. The tide was out when we got there at about 10:30am and there were 3 sandbars about 20-30 feet out the we swam to and played football and paddle ball on. The water was a little cool but very refreshing after being in the sun. We stayed at the beach until about 4:00pm, the tide was high by now and all the sandbars went under water.

We ended up going on a 4 mile bike ride Saturday

afternoon through the campground and finishing our card game of Rummy (DH Won). We had another campfire Saturday night and watch a movie in the camper.

Sunday, for Fathers Day, DH parents came out to visit. We went on a 8 mile bike ride in the park. We went to the rocky side of the beach and went on a walk and visited the wildlife center. Back at the campground we played a game of Bocce Ball (DS and Papa won). We cooked out on the grill and had a campfire. It was a great Fathers Day and weekend at the beach.
