This was our first rally, "The Northeast Spring Rally 2009 at Indian Hollow Campground in Huntington, Ma." We were really excited, There was going to be tubing and and pot luck dinners, breakfasts etc... We decided to head out a little early so we pulled DS out from school about 1 hour early. Everything went well with the trip, and we found the road to the campground with out problem. As we were traveling down Indian Hollow rd there was a sign that said "Hill 1 Mile" They were not kidding. You go down hill on a gravel rd for over 1 mile. As we were going down this road was getting narrower and narrower
and the tree branches were getting closer and closer (Being that this is a new rig we didn't want to destroy the paint on our third trip) so we got out the ladder and broke off some of the bigger branches. There were even points that the phone and cable lines were dragging on the roof.
Well we finally arrived at the campground to find a nice open field and some of the fellow rally campers had already arrived. There were no assigned sites so we found a nice place to park near the river and got set up. After setting up we went and introduced our selves to everyone, There were a few other newbies and Everyone was very nice. We sat down by HUGE fire ring and had hamburgers and hotdogs and GerryB54 fries. He made the french fries fresh and I have to say they were the best fries I have every eaten!

Saturday morning DS was very anxious to try tubing and got up early. DW and DS met with Gerry so he could show them the exit location. Down to the river they went. The water was probably 50 degrees. Very refreshing. After about 3 runs they convinced me to try it. Wholly cow the water was freezing. My legs were numb walking to get to the deep part. But once you were on the tube it was nice the sun beating down and the relaxing ride was great.

I think DS went 13 or 14 times, DW went 10 and I went 7. It was great.
We had a great time play Bocce ball, croquet, and relaxing in the sun.

Sunday morning I woke up to nightmares about driving the rig back up the hill getting more scratches. so I decided to go into town and get an extendable tree trimmer. DW and I then took the CRV and as I walked the road trimming back branches she drove the car. At one point a trooper patrolling the area stopped to see what we were doing (he didn't have any problem with it.) It took us about an hour and a half to get the branches trimmed back but it was well worth it. The trimmer is now part of the equipment for the RV.

We had a great time. Made new friends. Ate WAY to much good food. We would enjoy joining them for there summer of fall rally.
