Columbus Day weekend, DS has monday and Tuesday off school so we planed a 5 day 4 night
trip to Pine Acres. I want to start off by saying they charged way to much...holiday or not
a family should be 2 parents and 2 children. The kicker was when they charged $7.50 a
night for DS on top of the holiday weekend price of $61.00 a night....any ways.
The campground itself was very nice and well kept. Our site was neat because it was on a hill
and we looked down to see everything going on.
This weekend they had Halloween weekend which
|
was a blast. DS was a cowboy and his costume
came out great. DH's Mom and DW made the chaps and vest for the costume which made it look
authentic. We handed out candy and DS went trick or treating. That night the campground had a haunted
house that raised money for a local charity.
Mostly it was a lazy weekend of bike riding, campfires and sleeping in late.
We bought one of those new ladder golf games (it comes in a million parts) which DH
got to put together. DW was to good at the game so nobody wanted to play with

 |
her.
So we played Croquet to lift DH spirits because he always wins at that game.
Sunday night the campground had a DJ at there lodge which was above the game room.
This campground has its own liquor license so they didn't allow you to bring any drinks
including sodas into to lodge. The dance was fun, DS and DW did all the crazy cha-cha
slide and cotton eyed Joe dances while DH sat and watched.
Overall the campground was great, our site was great and the staff was
|
friendly
and we had a great trip. What hurts this campground and what will probably keep
us from going back are the high prices and the child fees
