Hammonasset was a great campground! Our site was huge and within walking distance
of the beach. This campground had no hookups but it had nice hot showers in the restrooms.
We had great weather, 75-80 degrees during the day and 50-55 degreesat night.
Friday we went for long 10 mile bike ride on the many trails in the park. We found a
great Nature Center Exibit that had live native snakes, turtles, fish and other wildlife
to look at. Saturday was all about the beach. We got up ate breakfest and headed to the beach.

The weather was great. DS made sandcastles and tried to find treasures with our metal
detector (we only found trash). I looked for shells and rocks and sun bathed a little to
long ( I was fried ). Jon hid from the sun in our neet beach tent and enjoyed the scenery.
We played paddle ball which was a lot of fun also. That night we watched the new "Charley
and the Chocolate Factory" with Johnny Depp in the parks amphitheater.
We had a great time and will be visiting this campground again.
