This was our first time camping in New York. The leaves were very colorful with
bright oranges, yellows and reds which made it a beatiful ride to the campground.
I (DW) managed to get us lost going to and coming home from the campground which made
the drive a bit more interesting.
The weekend was Columbus Day and the campground was putting on a Halloween themed
weekend with lots of things planned. Saturday they had a costume contest. We made
Jacob an awesome costume that made him look like he was being abducted by an alien.

It definately got him alot of attention. Then that night they did trick-or-treating
and had a bonfire and dance at the pavilion. We had an great time.
Sunday was a great relaxing day. DS an DW did a craft at the pavilion. DS painted a
ceramic truck and DW painted a butterfly. Sunday night the campground hosted an awesome
haunted hay ride. They had to have had 80-100 people running it. They loaded us in with about
20 people at a time and took us down one of there hiking trails. There were tiki torches
lighting the path and lots of people running out of the woods and grabing you or reving a chainsaw,
there were things falling out of the trees...very spooky, but very fun.

It was funny how they kept everyone off the trail while they set it up. Upon arriving
at the campground there were signs posted everywhere that said the hiking trails were
closed due to a bat infestion. (We fell for it) They said they come up with a new reason
every year, the owner said last year it was closed due to a bear sighting. LOL.
It was fun staying an extra day, we sat around relaxing and saw everyone packing up.
By the end of the day Monday the campground was like a ghost town. Even most of the
seasonals had pulled out or left because the campground was closing for the season.
We really enjoyed the campground and would stay here again.
