Wow! What a trip! Although we were not impressed with the campground (small sites, tight roads,
not very clean facilities...), We loved our trip to Mount Desert Island! Where to start We did
so many things. We arrived Friday, Mom & Dad Saturday and My Sister and her kids Sunday.
This was our first trip with my Sister and her two girls, they stayed in a tent on our site.
Mom and Dad stayed at the Heathwood inn.
We had a great time together visiting many different places. Saturday Night we went out to dinner
at the Doc Sider in North East Harbor and DW and DS
|
had Lobster for the first time. After Dinner we walked down to the docs to look at the boats,
I saw a big Starfish and DW went wading into the water and caught the biggest Star Fish I have
ever seen. After that we went into Bar Harbor and got some Blue Berry Ice cream Yumm! and did a
little Shopping.
Sunday we had a family reunion in Elsworth and we had a good time seeing and meeting the many family
members. My sister arrived around 5pm and we had a quite dinner in and got her situated with the tent.

Monday morning we got going early and took all the bikes and went on a 9 mile ride on the Carriage
trails around Jordan Pond. After comming back to the Camper to get cleaned up for a 2:30 reservation
we went to The Jordan Pond House for tea and pop overs. Just as it was being server it started to rain
so they rushed us inside to the balcony. The pop-overs were delicious! Back to the camper for a little
relaxation and then we went to the Tan Turtle Tavern in North East Harbor for dinner.
Ok Tuesday our big day, We had it all planned out, weather was supposed to be great so, we started
|
with some exploring and shelling on the bar to Bar Island, and then on to Acadia National park where
we stopped at Sand Beach, Then on to Thunder Hole where we climbed all over the rocks, Thunder Hole
was thundering louder then I had ever heard before. The we hiked to Bubble Rock and had a picnic at
the top, We finished of the day with a trip to the top of Cadillac Mountain where we walked around the top.
A great trip that we highly recommend!
