We always go camping for Columbus Day weekend and decided to go to Odetah Camping resort.
We had heard great things about this campground and we were able to get in on the holiday
weekend. We were not impressed with our site at all. We were way in the back of the campground
and our site was very small and very unlevel, but we made the best of it. They have a
resturant right in the campground so we decided to order 2 pizzas and watch some movies
the first night. The pizzas were great but we should have ordered just one (they were huge)
We ate pizza for the next 3 days.
Saturday the campground had alot of activities going on. DS and DW entered a basketball
shootout competition and DW won a sweatshirt for being the only person out of 15 to make
it from half court. We also played candy bar bingo, and flashlight candy hunt on the playground. DS
got a ton of candy. We went to the dance that night and decided to take a short cut path through the woods
(with no flashlight)back to the camper. It really freaked out DW and DS.
Sunday night we had a camp fire and DS got a few lessons on how to use an ax.
He did a great job! DS did not have school the Tuesday following Columbus Day so we stayed Monday night.
We were a little disappointed because it was Columbus Day and everything was closed this day. The Arcade, Resturant,
Pool, Rec Center....I mean everything. We rode our bikes and played hacky sack and found things to do.
This was our last trip for the year.
