Hammonasset Beach has become a yearly camping trip for us. This year had a twist because it was the start of our 2 week road trip and DW's sister Teri flew in from Florida for the first 3 nights at Hammonasset. We arrived at the campground around 3:00pm on Friday and noticed an SUV parked right in the middle of our site. After talking with the office they said the person on the site was gone when they went by at checkout time but must have come back and parked back at the site to go back to the beach. After a couple hours he returned to get something out of his car and we informed him it was after checkout time and he needed to leave, and he did.
Saturday was a gorgeous day to go to the beach. Their wasn't a cloud in the sky. Teri thought the beaches looked a lot different from Florida but found it very interesting. The water was a little chilly but DS and DW went swimming anyways. We played football and Frisbee and walked on the beach. Teri couldn't believe she would be going home with a tan from Connecticut.

Sunday was a more overcast day but we were kinda glad...we were sunburned. We decided to go to the other side of the beach and go exploring. They have a rocky path that you can walk and DS catches little crabs and we collected shells and sea glass. After the walk we went to the Nature Center at the beach and saw a snake and turtle show. We had a great time (like always) at the campground and look forward to coming back next year.
