Fransted Family Campground was our first campground in New Hampshire. The mountains driving in to New Hampshire were magnificent and dizzying. Our schedule was very busy once we were settled in. DS and DW had never seen waterfalls so our first outing was a hike on the Falling Waters trail. We went about 1.5 miles up and turned around and came back down. This trail had 3 amazing waterfalls. On the way back to the camper we stopped to see Boise Rock. The following day we visited Clark's Trading post and saw the bear and acrobats show.
It was a blast from the past for DH. That night we climbed Bald Mountain to see a beautiful view of Echo Lake and watch the sunset.

The following day we went to The Flume in Franconia Notch State Park. What an amazing place to visit! The walkway through the mountains and the water rushing around you was just breathtaking. We went right to the Cannon Mountain Aeriel Tramway and went to the 4200' summit. There was a small hiking path with great views from the top so we stopped to have a picnic lunch and met a couple that was from New Port
Richey where we used to live. (What a small world.)

Our last day at Fransted Campground was a very busy day. We headed out early and went to Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves. Another spectacular show of nature with running rivers and natural caves you could climb through. The tightest cave being the lemon squeeze. Next we headed towards the Basin, a 6 mile hike that included waterfalls, crossing rivers, Lonesome Lake and visiting an AMC hut on the Appalachian trial. What a great time!
