We arrive at Alexander Springs and realized we had just been thrown into boon docking!
We made our reservations online and must have missed where it said primitive camping only.
We weren't really prepared but we did the best with what we had which was only about 20 gallons of water
in the holding tank. Although, we were happy that we had filled the propane tank. The campsite was huge
with a fire pit and we had room to hang the hammock. Friday, we rented a canoe and went up the springs.

They were so beautiful. The water was so clear you could see
turtles and fish swimming all over the place. We also saw an 8-10 foot gator basking in the sun.
Jacob wasn't to happy to see him. After we returned the canoe, we went on a 1.5 mile nature trail thru
the forest. Jon told Jacob about the bears in the woods and played a joke saying that the scat we saw
was bear poop and that they were nearby. After our walk, we went swimming and snorkeling in the spring.
One spot was around 30-40 feet deep with a cave where 70 million gallons of water a day flows out.

It was breathtaking and mesmerizing
to swim over it. We headed back to the campsite and BBQ'd and had a campfire (finally). When the sun
set, millions of fireflies came out and Jacob had a blast collecting them. To conserve water, we headed
to the campground bathrooms to shower for the night. It was real late and dark so I decided to shower
in the men's bathroom with the guys so I wouldn't be alone. Jon and Jacob had to sneak me out when I was
done because men kept coming in and out. Boon docking was a lot of fun and made us forget about TV and
the real world for a couple of days.
