We often boondock or drydock (no hook ups) so we need a way to accurately monitor our battery status.
The only way to do this is to install a shunt between the battery and all loads or chargers.
We went with the AiLi Voltmeter Ammeter
What nice is it gives you a display that looks like a AA battery. You can also configure it to your battery bank size.
I configured mine to 1/2 the bank size so if the AA battery display shows anything above empty I know I have not depleted the battery below 50%
